I have had an online presence at IdeaLady.com since 1998, and I have been blogging about mystery shopping since 2004, but this is my first blog that will be about “all things Cathy.” That means that I will write about marketing, publishing, Internet marketing, and whatever is on my mind.
Those of you who have read my newsletters know that I am not shy about saying what I think, and I love to share news, tips and resources. The newsletters are one way but they have limitations. This site simply gives my another way to do all of that, and to share more with you.
And although I love getting emails from newsletter subscribers, this blog will allow all of us to have a conversation, not just me to you and you to me, but involving all of us together.
Plan on visiting often to keep up with everything going on here. I plan on posting just about every day, and sometimes more than once a day. You can also get updates via email or RSS so you don’t miss a thing.
And be sure to let me know what is on your mind. I always love to hear from you. You can email me at cathy (at) idealady (dot) com, or leave a comment here on the blog.

Okay, Cathy. Good start!
Does that mean you’re thinking of stopping the newsletter, though? I really enjoy the newsletter, and sometimes apply it to my life in general, as well as to my business.
But you know, I just went over to the “free blogging course” offer, and I can’t find anywhere I can go to take a look at it. It almost looks like one of those self-perpetuating jobs, with nothing behind it. Have you had a chance to see what their course looks like? And how do you get it? I don’t see any place to click to tell you how to get it!

Hi Cathy,
Great idea. I am new to blogging, although I can see the benefit in keeping client interest and all that it does seem a very big commitment and a lot of work. It would be wonderful if you could say more about your person experience of running yours and also about your experience of using FeedBurner. I see Irene has already asked for feedback on the free blogging course.
Look forward to reading more from you.

No, I am not stopping my newsletters–at least, not any time soon.
You will get hit for ads for other stuff when you claim the blogging course, but if you wade through them you do get an extensive course.
I have been blogging for a few years at http://www.MysteryShoppersManual.com/ but this will be the “Cathy” site where I post about marketing, publishing, blogging, and whatever is on my mind.
One thing I am working on is learning how to drive traffic to a brand new site. I will share my experiences and tips as I discover what works and what doesn’t.
Thanks for the comments!
Cathy
P.S. Feedburner and Feedblitz are both good services for managing blog subscriptions. I work with both.
