As a professional organizer, I can confirm that I have helped clients find money. The smallest amount a client ever found was $.35 and the largest was a client that had lost a life insurance check for $500,000 - we found it and worked together through the insurance company maze to get a new check issued (this one had expired b/c she lost it over 3 years prior) and she was able to deposit it and make some major improvements in her life. I also would encourage freelancers to not only collect what you are owed, but to have a system in place to even KNOW what you are owed. Many freelancers that I have worked with lose track of time and don't realize that they spent 5 hours on a design but only billed 1 hour because the time went so fast to them. I heard this one from inspirational speaker/author Andy Feld…'a friend of mine really did not like his car so each day he would contemplate on how great it would feel to have the VW that he really desired. After a couple of months he gave up, realizing what he was doing was no more than wishful thinking. That very night as he was drifting off to sleep he hears a loud "BAM." It turns out some rich guy had run into his car, totally wrecking it. So to avoid the whole insurance thing, the wealthy guy hands over a whole lot of cash. So the next day, the elated man goes out and gets the VW that he really wanted.'...true story. How about contemplating on what you want.
