Does Success Mean You Can Slow Down?

August 27th, 2009 · 3 Comments

carrie-fisherI love reading quotations. Some of them are funny, some are motivational, some share a little bit of wisdom. There is one I found recently that I really liked from, believe it or not, actress Carrie Fisher. (Yes, Princess Leia.)

Carrie said,

“There is no point at which you can say, ‘Well, I’m successful now. I might as well take a nap.’”

Lots of people think that if they can become successful they can simply sit around doing nothing after that. Well, it usually doesn’t work that way. Success may give you more freedom, but it often comes with more responsibility, too.

This quotation points out again how important it is to have work you love, work for which you have a passion. Are you doing what you love? If not, are you taking steps to create a business or career you can love? It is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

You are so right. I also think success is ongoing. Some days everything falls into place…due to some hard work & planning. Other days you have set backs. It’s important to remember those are just setbacks and not failures.

[...] Share a favorite quotation, and add a bit of commentary about why you like it or what it means to you. Here’s an example from my blog: http://cathystucker.com/does-success-mean-you-can-slow-down [...]
