Dianne, I am a big believer in grouping tasks. All of my errands get run in one trip, pay all the bills at once, do lots of writing in one sitting, etc.

Very effective way to get more done!

I too love lists and find them very helpful in keeping me on track. I use them to substitute for the memory that I lost some time ago!

I have a standard way that I organize my weekly list and find this helpful. All of the things involving the computer go in the left top. Below this is phone calls, below that errands. In the right hand column are things to do at work on top and general things to do below this. For daily goals, I will star the several things that I want to accomplish that day.

I pull this list from the plethera of goal lists that are broken into task as you described in your blog post.

Now, it takes a little time to organize this, but I find it useful for several reasons. First, I love the process. Second, when I have written down all of the things that have been jingling merrily in my mind, I feel free to think a little deeper about other things. Thirdly, it is very time productive when sitting at the computer to finish that extra simple thing, or to run all the errands in a big circle.

Thanks for this blog post. I feel validated!
